The KingKORG NEO utilizes KORG's XMT virtual modeling sound engine. XMT, which stands for Extended Modeling Technology, is designed to deliver a wide range of sounds while ensuring operational simplicity.
The KingKORG NEO simplifies this process with preset algorithms. These carefully designed combinations of different oscillator types and amounts allow you to quickly and easily create rich, stage-ready tones.
To meet the demands for diverse tonal capabilities, the KingKORG NEO features a variety of oscillator algorithms. From classic sawtooth and square waves to more complex noise patterns typical of analog synthesizers, and extending to PCM/DWGS, the synthesizer is able to meet a wide range of musical needs and preferences.

Using Representative Modeling Filter
The heart of the KingKORG NEO lies in its meticulously designed filter section, the cornerstone that defines the synthesizer's unique sonic character. Korg has infused the KingKORG NEO with a variety of filters, each adding a unique flavor to your sound creations.
The KingKORG NEO's filters include a wide variety of essential analog-modeled filter types, allowing you to precisely and easily shape your sound. Korg meticulously modeled the filters to evoke two of the most iconic analog monophonic synthesizers of the '70s—the go-tos for punchy lead tones and deep bass. The team also captured the essence of two of the most celebrated polyphonic synthesizers of the vibrant New Wave era of the late '70s and '80s. Of course, the KingKORG NEO also features the legendary filters from Korg's own MS-20 analog synthesizer.
There are 18 filters in total to choose from, and the resulting sounds can be rich, nasty, sweet, searing, heavy, ethereal – giving you the widest possible range of sounds.
One of the most appealing features of these filters is their ability to self-oscillate when you turn up the resonance—a hallmark of classic analog synthesis. This feature opens up a world of sonic possibilities, from creating ethereal textures to crafting powerful, resonant tones.

300 programs in 8 categories, easy to use
The KingKORG NEO's 300 programs (200 preset, 100 user) provide instant inspiration, and each can be easily and intuitively modified via the easy-to-use front panel controls. Programs are stored in five groups, each with eight "Favorite Programs" that act like "Live Sets" for easy access during performances or quickly finding what you need during recording.

Vocoder Magic
The KingKORG NEO synthesizer is equipped with balanced XLR inputs on the front panel and includes a rugged, high-quality microphone.
At the heart of the KingKORG NEO Vocoder lies a sophisticated 16-band filter that rivals dedicated vocoder machines. This powerful feature lets you craft classic vocoder tones, but it's just the beginning. By shifting the filter frequency with the formant shift function and finely adjusting the level and pan of each band, you can open the door to a range of unique and original sounds. Whether you're aiming for vintage charm or a modern edge, this vocoder easily adapts to any genre or style.
But there's more – the KingKORG NEO redefines flexibility. Timbre B can be cleverly used as a modulator, providing an alternative to traditional microphone inputs. This allows vocoder effects to be seamlessly blended with synth sounds, paving the way for endless sonic exploration.
Additionally, each of the three oscillators (A and B voices) can be individually selected as a source for the microphone input. This unique feature lets you synthesize rich combinations of sounds and instruments, creating tonal fusions that are both innovative and captivating.

The KingKORG NEO's extensive library includes 200 stage-ready preset programs created specifically for modern music producers. These presets span eight categories, including SYNTH, LEAD, and BASS, and provide an intuitive way to find the perfect sound for any scene.

Featured Effects
The KingKORG NEO enhances your sound with three master effects slots, each offering six different effect types.
The PRE FX slot brings the grit and edge of effects like distortion and amplifier simulators. MOD FX injects the classic charm of phaser, chorus, and tremolo into your tracks. For expansive atmosphere, the REV/DELAY slot offers ambiance effects, including hall reverb and modulation delay. Adjusting and selecting these effects is simple thanks to dedicated dials for each slot on the front panel, as well as FX control knobs for detailed fine-tuning.

Virtual patching functionality
Embrace the spirit of classic synthesizers like the MS-20 with the KingKORG NEO's innovative Virtual Patch system. This intuitive feature brings the flexibility of physical patching synths into the digital age. With six virtual patch assignments per voice, you can virtually connect control signals like EGs, LFOs, or joystick movements to key sound parameters, including pitch and cutoff. Step arpeggiator function
The KingKORG NEO features a versatile step arpeggiator that automatically generates arpeggiated phrases based on the chords you play, bringing your performances to life. Choose from six different arpeggio types to further customize your sound. You can specify the duration, interval, and on/off state of each step, opening up a wealth of rhythmic possibilities.
