Basic Course Information

• Songs can be selected according to the students' preferences and levels.

• The price for learning to play the pop drums varies depending on the course level and duration. Please refer to the price list for details.

Exam, certificate, competition and performance opportunities

• Training performance and test-taking skills
• Can be arranged to participate in the band
• Arrange to participate in the Rockschool International Exam
• Arrange to attend Trinity Rock & Pop International Exams
• Arrange to participate in various types of open competitions
• After completing 8 sessions, and with the instructor's approval, you may participate in the Parkland student show (normally about once per season).
• After completing 8 sessions, students can apply for a Parkland certificate or proof of enrollment.

Beginner Pop Drum Course

• Equivalent to Rockschool/Trinity Rock & Pop (Beginner to Level 3)
• Understanding Popular Drum Components
• Basic grip and sitting posture
• Basic music theory and music reading
• Single & Basic tapping techniques such as double strokes and paradiddles.
• Basic rhythm
• Volume Changes Dynamics
• 4-Way Coordination
• Basic striking style
• Phrase Analysis
• Song application practice
• You can choose a class duration of 30, 45, or 60 minutes.

intermediatePopular Drum Course

• Equivalent to Rockschool/Trinity Rock & Pop Level 4-5
• Intermediate typing techniques such as Paradiddle-Diddle and Fast Doubles
• Intermediate rhythm
• Intermediate arrangement
• Study different tapping styles

(Pop, Rock, Blues, Funk, etc.)

• Solo and Ensemble Techniques
• Improvisation
• Song application practice
• A class can be 45 or 60 minutes long.

Advanced Pop Drum Course

• Equivalent to Rockschool/Trinity Rock & Pop Level 6 to 8
• Advanced Improvisation Skills
• Introduction to Mode
• Jazz percussion style
• Key skills and speed training
• Advanced Improvisation
• A class can be 45 or 60 minutes long.

Popular Drum CourseShould choose30,45still60minute?

• 30-minute lessons: Suitable for children under 5 years old with shorter attention spans. Other students are advised to choose 45-minute or 60-minute lessons for faster and more effective learning.

• 45-minute lesson: Approximately 15 minutes for reviewing a previous lesson and teacher feedback, 25 minutes for learning techniques through songs (songs of your choice), and 5 minutes for answering student questions.

• A 60-minute lesson includes approximately 15 minutes of reviewing a previous lesson and teacher feedback, 40 minutes of learning techniques through songs (songs of your choice), and 5 minutes of answering student questions.

• A 60-minute lesson provides roughly twice the time of a 45-minute lesson to learn new skills, making it naturally more effective! If you're determined and persistent enough to learn well, don't hesitate, choose the 60-minute lesson!

Remark

• Online registration for new students is currently limited to one session with eight lessons, and all courses will be conducted in a one-on-one format.

• Please select your level and payment method first, and then you can choose your school and time for the class. You can choose any time you like!

• A one-time registration administration fee of $100 will be charged for first-time registrations.
