Newly designed sound processor

The original microKORG was known for its easy-to-use vocoder with a dedicated microphone, which is one of the reasons for its enduring popularity.

The microKORG2 takes this concept to a new level, featuring a powerful new sound processor. In addition to vocoder effects, this new sound processor boasts industry-standard hard-tuned pitch correction, as well as harmonics that allow you to pitch-shift and layer your raw audio. You can also apply reverb, delay, and other effects to the sound processor's output.

Inspiring Loop Recorder

The new microKORG features a loop recorder, allowing you to create background soundtracks by looping and dubbing a given musical section, making it ideal for mobile live performances. Three dedicated buttons—Record, Play/Stop, and Undo/Redo—make loop recording incredibly easy for anyone.

Thanks to its easily accessible dedicated menu, which allows for easy modification of recording and playback settings, any player can start making music immediately.

The microKORG2 expands upon its iconic sound palette, introducing genre-based category and library selectors for quick access to an incredibly diverse range of sounds across classic, modern, and futuristic categories. The genre-based category and library selectors allow users to quickly find sounds suitable for any genre without endless and tedious preset browsing. Three libraries contain eight genre categories, each offering eight presets, and you can save up to 64 presets in your user library for your personal enjoyment.

The microKORG2 is a virtual analog synthesizer with analog-to-analog circuitry. One of the characteristics of virtual analog synthesizers is that there are no physical limitations on circuit layout, which gives you a vast canvas to create your own sounds, allowing you to transcend classic, modern, and futuristic eras.

The microKORG2 offers virtual tone functionality in a compact form, providing the tone functionality that users are already familiar with when creating sounds using analog circuitry.

Significantly enhanced effect

To maximize the range of synthesized sounds, Korg developed three series of effects, including nine new modulations (with dynamic effects), six delays, and reverb. These three series of effects can be independently turned on/off, and their wet/dry ratio can be adjusted individually.

The signal is routed through the effects unit and output to a two-band parametric equalizer with adjustable low and high frequencies, allowing you to fine-tune the final characteristics of the sound. Users can create sounds from start to finish using only the new microKORG, without the need for external mixers or effects processing.
