The all-new Korg Wavestate mkII features improved polyphony (96 stereo sounds) and a completely new look. It also boasts a library of third-party software. Updated sounds and software keep things fresh (these are also available for the original waveforms). Despite its compact form factor with 37 full-size buttons, it remains easily transportable and fits perfectly into any stage, studio, or desktop setup.

Like the original Wavestate, it uses Wave Sequencing 2.0, providing amazing, ever-changing sound through extensive manual controls.

Wave Sequencing 2.0

Wave Sequencing 2.0 separates time, sample sequences, and melodies so that each can be operated independently. New features have also been added, including shape, gating time, and step sequencer values. Each of these is a "channel," and each channel can have a different number of steps, as well as its own start, end, and loop points.

Each time the sequence moves forward, the individual channels combine to create the output. For example, a sample can be matched with different durations, pitches, shapes, gate lengths, and step sequence values ​​each time it's played. You can use velocity, LFO, envelope, modulation knobs, or other controllers to individually modulate the start, end, and loop points of each channel for each note. Every note in a chord can play something different!

Wavestate's template library totals GB, more than a thousand times larger than the original WAVESTATION template library. This provides a wealth of great material for waveform sequences. It includes sample libraries from Plugin Guru, brand new samples from KORG, and select samples from the NAUTILUS, KRONOS, and KROME libraries. Of course, KORG also provides all samples from WAVESTATION (including all options), as well as a vast library of WAVESTATION Wave Sequences. Playback up to [number missing] samples in original clarity using KORG's proprietary anti-aliasing sample playback technology. 96 stereo sounds.

Wavestate mkII’s exceptional effects deliver sound that can be used for production.

Each layer has three dedicated effects; in addition, Performance also features a master reverb and a parametric equalizer.
In addition to standard features such as compressors, equalizers, choruses, flangers, phasers, and stereo delays, it also features unique processors such as waveform shapers, speech modulators, inverse delays, multi-band modulation delays, and overb (from OASYS), as well as modeling effects including VOX guitar amplifiers, VOX wah, multi-head tape echo, and a range of classic guitar pedals.

It features a built-in aggressive MS-20 low-pass or high-pass filter, as well as a powerful, sweet Polysix low-pass filter. You can shape and refine your filters using the full range of resonant 2-pole and 4-pole low-pass, high-pass, band-pass, and band-stop filters. Alternatively, break the mold with KORG's unique multi-filter feature, which can create tunable blends of multiple modes simultaneously.

With all these synthesis capabilities, you might think that Wavestate can only play one sound at a time. Of course not! For richer, more complex results, Wavestate can overlay up to four programs into a single Performance, each with its own effects and arpeggios. Vector envelopes and joysticks blend the individual sounds across the four layers, and any other parameters can be modulated.
